I know i haven't been updating my blog a lot, Been on Nokia Discussions boards too much :P.

Anyway, I'd like to say i'm quite impressed with the new Sony Ericsson K850i, It really looks like a proper camera, But the buttons on the front maybe abit too complicated for some users.

N81 and N95 8GB, There has been an argument on why Nokia released another improved version on the N95, I mean it makes N95 users feel like Beta testers.

Anyway the N95 8GB looks cool, The improvements that everyone wanted except from a memory card slot, Well, well another mistake..
Atleast the N81 has 2 options, an 8GB flash memory model and a memory card model, Great!
It has the new NaviWheel technology which is just an amazing way to browse music.

the 2 megapixel camera is quite a dissapointment but this is a music orientated phone so i'll let it off for that one.

All in all pretty good with the N81 and N81 8GB.
Sony Ericsson still got some catching up to do.

Beautfil phone, This may be one of the best sellers for music fans.
Series 40 so it's fast and reliable.
Features are:

Overall, this is probably one of the best Series 40 out there featuring a 3.15 MP camera and XpressMusic branding from Nokia

Nokia E51

This is the new E51, it's supposed to be like the Nokia 6120 Classic but it has better features and this phone is obviously targeted at business users, i don't really keypad design because the buttons are all squashed up together.

WiFi with VOIP capabilities

Overall, Nice phone just a tiny bit better than the 6120 but i am not bothered because the 6120 looks better :)

Click on the image to zoom it in. But there something unique about the white one...
You know the 3 logo 3 put on their phones on the back of the phone and front..They haven't put it on the white on! I know it looks unbranded but it's not! it came with all the usual X-series apps installed and as you can see the operator is '3' obviously.
So far no crashes or hangs and i have installed 5 apps in the first day of owning it!
I bought it exactly 1.52pm in the 3store in birmingham city centre.
My first S60 and it's going all good, hopefully it won't crash or hang because this is a beautiful stable smartphone. It's very lightweight and small. by the way from the picture the keypad looks blue for some reason but it's actually a white glow on the keys.

Is an iPod really that better!

It's put the the test facing the rare Sony Ericsson W550i!

Design:

iPod: 8/10 - Everyone complains about the back of the iPod Videos, They get scratched and smudged very very easily! Definately is a problem considering mine was in it's black case that it came with, But the idea of the Click wheel and the shiny front really appeals to me.

Sony W550i: 9/10 - Very Nice swivel design and works well though, it is a very chubby phone and could of been slimmer!

Sound quality:

iPod: 10/10 - Could not fault the quality, it's just a matter of changing the equalizer in the settings to the right one - Bass Booster rules! :)

Sony W550i: 9.5/10 - Very good, Not many options for the equalizer but Bass Booster is missing :( Still there is MEGA BASS

User Friendly or not?:

iPod: 10/10 - Who would not like the iPod interface! It's very very user friendly! But when buying this at first you will need to get use to the click wheel if you are scrolling down the list of songs one by one, Though after about 3 days you will totally get used to it.

Sony W550i: 10/10 - This too has a very friendly user interface, and there are music buttons on the side to play and stop a song when doing something else on the phone.

Battery life:

iPod: 9/10 - It definately has about 9-10 hours playback atleast - thats good! But the iPod nano 2nd gen has 24 hours playback. Yes i know my iPod has a 30GB hard drive to handle and videos..

Sony W550i: 6/10 - i'm not sure know how many hours playback it has but it definately does 3-4 hours atleast -Due to mobile signals in the house!

That's the end of my iPod VS Sony W550i, So the iPod gets 37/40 and the Sony gets 34.5/40

6280 dust UNDER the screen - PROOF

As i have been talking about the dust issue on the Nokia UK forum and my blog i will give you proof of how much dust there is in my Nokia 6280's screen and that is under the screen so you have to take it to a Nokia Service Centre to clean it.

I used the flash on my 5MP camera to reflect the dust off the screen.

The image above is the picture.

This was a great picture as you can see every piece of dust on there!

Now T-Mobile are not allowing TruPhone.

What a disaster for the networks, They are all slowly crippling VoIP.

Virgin and o2 are left, Lets just hope they don't cripple it too......

This time they are competing against the N91 8GB and guess what it's even better than that!!

They've got it spot on this time!

It's a 8GB Walkman, It's got WiFi, It has a 2.6 inch touchscreen, 3G and Stereo bluetooth

This is way better than the N91 8GB. :)

Also it's a smartphone.

It definatly has a better keypad than the W950.

Well this maybe the best music phone of 2007 if anything better gets released.

6280 2MP camera VS Siemens C65 0.1MP Camera

Firstly, I came up with a test of the Nokia 6280 and Siemens C65 which has a 0.1 Megapixel camera and the 6280 has a 2MP.

In this test i will take a picture of a piece of text on a newspaper with a close up.

Both phones have no auto focus and no macro mode the picture my 6280 and C65 is above.

Now the 6280, I took a picture of a piece of text with it and this is what it looked like below

As you can see from the picture of the 6280 it's actually out of focus and very blurred. Very bad indeed.

Now it's time for the C65 with the o.1 megapixel camera which is low resolution but lets see how it will turn out! Look below

Wow!!! it's actually in Focus? the siemens c65 does not have auto focus or macro! but it certainly beat the 6280!!

This means that the 0.1mp camera from the C65 beat the 2MP camera of the 6280!

S60 Solutions and Nokia Service Centres

If something wierd happens to your Nokia S60 3rd Edition.... You should try these:

Type in *#7370#, then put in 12345 unless you have changed it and this will do a soft reset of the phone - Hopefully this will fix your problem.
When booting up the phone, Hold all these 3 keys : Green call key the number 3 and the star '*' - this will do a full reset so make sure you backed anything up.
Remove the battery and the sim card - This might fix your problem but there is a small chance.
Type in *#0000# see if you have the latest software (Firmware) version for your Nokia S60, Check from this page: http://www.nokia.co.uk/A4305060

And last of all! Yes! The Nokia Service Centre, Your Nokia has a 2 Year warranty on it and they can fix it for free.. They can flash new firmware onto your phone, They can check it's battery connections and see if its not faulty, they can replace your covers with new funky colours.. Etc etc.

New Sony Ericsson!! But with 5 MP!!

The New K850!! Bound to be a hit for camera users! 5 Megapixels, This is quality stuff from Sony Cybershot!

There are too many buttons and it looks abit complicated to me! The navigati button is on the '2' and '5' numbers of the keypad so it looks a little awkward to me.

Anyway thats not the point, i want to know if this can beat the Nokia N95 in terms of quality, soon there will be reviews on the camera soon...

6280 - Short review

My 6280 is getting rubbisher and rubbisher by the day.

First i will talk to you about the problems i have had with this 6280 V 05.92 (07-09-06)

Signal - Absoloute rubbish, cuts out when you slide the phone up
Slider - I have seriously got to comment on this - It's wobbly and nasty
Crashes (firmware bugs) - When on internet phones crashes and goes back to the standby screen
Crashes (again) - When on games the phone just freezes and any button you press will be ignored, Going to have to take the battery out aint ya?
Dusty Screen - The worst thing about this phone so far is ..... Yes you guessed it, Dusty and rusty nokia screen, it has been badly manufactured

Now i will talk about the Camera of this device, it runs a 2 megapixel camera with flash and no autofocus 1600 * 1200 resolution.

It has bad quality images, the CMOs sensor is just too small and dark pictures come out in reddy bluey pixels.

I will post some images of the camera of this phone later...
